Do I have to be a member to take courses?
Yes. By enrolling in a course you automatically become a member of the FAB at a discounted rate (see the examples below). Membership entitles you to:
- Full access to our Library
- Exclusive, members-only events
- Preferred rates for all our cultural events

Refunds, credit policies, and course changes
Refunds are not issued except in the case of class cancellation due to low enrollment (minimum enrollment is five students / class). In all other cases, a credit good for one year is granted. Credits are granted from the day we are notified and no credits may be granted after 2 weeks of classes for the 9-week Session. A processing fee of $50 will be applied. If the credit is not used within the one-year period, the credit amount is deemed to be a tax-deductible contribution to the FAB. You may switch down or up a level should you feel not comfortable in your class. No switch will be allowed after the first two weeks of classes. Please contact the Education Department for advice and options.
Books for adult courses
Books may be purchased at the FAB. We suggest that you purchase the books in advance so that you may get familiar with the learning materials before the class starts.
- Beginner Alter Ego 1 (FR 101 - 104) Textbook, Workbook and 1 CD $60.00
- Intermediate Alter Ego 2 (FR 201-204) Textbook, Workbook and 1 CD $60.00
- Books are non-refundable
Books and materials for children's courses
- A set of vocabulary cards are required for les Petits Amis and les Amis for $20.00. These cards help your child to review his French at home and allow you to play with her/him.
- Books are not required to be purchased for Summer Camp.
- For other books and materials requirements for themed courses and children class, contact the Education Department.
